![]() Katherine Slaughter has been an executive search consultant since 1991. She founded Institutional Advantage, LLC in 2001, dedicated to clients whose mission is to serve the public good, be it through education, cultural enlightenment, or community or public service. IA’s motto is “Building Stronger Institutions, One Person at a Time”. During her career, Katherine’s clients have included Oakland University, Wayne State University, the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute, and the Detroit Institute of Arts. Position titles include president, chief development officer, provost, dean, department chair, and vice presidents in university relations, government relations, finance and administration, human resources, and facilities management. Prior to forming Institutional Advantage, Katherine was vice president of a Michigan-based retained executive search firm, where she headed the Higher Education and Non-Profit practice. She earlier served as vice president and marketing director for MMI Distributing, and was a senior account executive for AT&T Communications. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR), the Society for Human Resource Management, the Association for the Study of Higher Education, and the American Council on Education’s Executive Search Roundtable. Katherine received a Bachelor of Arts and MBA from the University of Michigan. Currently, she is enrolled in the Master of Library and Information Science program at Wayne State University. | |
